The Bright home is divided this week as the St. Louis Cardinal and the Texas Rangers are set to square off in Game 1 of the World Series. Will decided that he is rooting for the Cardinals because Papa and GG gave him a Cardinals shirt and hat for his birthday. He told me he can cheer for the Rangers next year, but only if I get him a Rangers shirt for his birthday :)

So Jenny and I both have fond memories of attending baseball games for our respective teams when we were kids. (I lived in Abilene, TX until I was 12, and went to 3 or 4 Rangers' games growing up. Jenny went to quite a few Cardinals games in her hometown of St. Louis.) Jenny's favorite snack was giant pretzels with mustard and my favorite was frozen lemonade in a plastic baseball helmet :)
I really loved watching baseball when I was a kid. Once a home run hit by my favorite player, Juan Gonzalez, landed five rows in front of us at a game the whole family was attending. And another time, my dad took just me and we hung around the players' entrance before the game to get autographs. We got 5 players to sign the baseball we brought with us, including future Hall-of-Famer Rafael Palmeiro. Juan Gonzalez hit 3 home runs in that game, and the Rangers won. Great memory - thanks dad.
Well, I am definitely cheering for the Rangers, with apologies for my St. Louis-based in-laws ;) Jenny's dad has tickets to Game 2! Very jealous. Let's hope for a good series - my pick: Rangers in 7 games - yeah!
